The nurse said in her account that Aeson was the king of the kingdom of Iolcus. His son Jason was very young at the time of his death. Medea is centered on Medea's calculated desire for revenge against her unfaithful husband. Medea is of divine descent and had the gift of prophecy. She married Jason and used her magic powers and advice to help him find and retrieve the golden fleece.
